Silcotech holds grand opening, announces investment in York

YORK, S.C. — Silcotech, a global leader in liquid injection molding, has celebrated the grand opening of its York County operations and has also announced an additional $2.5 million investment in the facility.

Established in 1984 and headquartered in Ontario, Canada, Silcotech produces specialized silicone components for a number of industries, including medical, health care, automotive, packaging, consumer electronics and consumer markets. The company also operates a plant in India.

Silcotech’s York County facility, which represents the company’s first in the U.S., has been producing precision silicone parts since January. This additional $2.5 million investment adds to an initial $3.5 million investment. Currently, approximately 42 workers are employed at the facility. The plant has six silicone injection machines, with room for 14 more machines and enough property for a second building with space for 20 more machines. Silcotech’s goal is to continue to grow the business.
